Join Assembly Leader Jon Bramnick's Efforts to Safely Reopen Restaurants
On Monday March 16th, 2020 Governor Murphy closed all restaurants for indoor dining.
On Monday June 22nd, 2020 the Governor announced that restaurants could begin indoor dining at a reduced 25% capacity on July 2nd, just in time for the busy July 4th weekend.
Relying on the Governor's word, restaurant owners began preparing to responsibly reopen, retrofitting their facilities, purchasing food and supplies, and rehiring employees.
On June 29th, 2020 Governor Murphy announced his unilateral decision to reverse course and not allow indoor dining to to reopen.
Restaurants have now been prohibited from offering indoor dining for over 15 weeks. Many of these small, independent eateries that are the bedrock of our communities will not survive.
Other businesses in New Jersey have been allowed to reopen at reduced capacity with safeguards in place. Restaurants should be no different.
Paid for by Assembly Republican Victory, PO Box 999, Edison, NJ 08818
We the undersigned call on Governor Murphy to allow restaurants to responsibly resume indoor dining immediately.
