This petition is based on what is going on in to days society in Jamaica. The teams that support Jamaica at the national levels mostly over 20 are filled with foreighners. Nothing is wrong with having foreigners on our team but the majority of them most times weigh out the Jamaican on such teams in both feame and male teams. This I find supprising because Jamaica has so many talented people in the country who are sometimes more talented than those on the team. Jamaicans however in the roles that are to choose whomever gets picked to be on such teams are not willing to invest in the country, they want people who are trained and ready and in alot of cases these people are foreigners. It is sad for me to be saying and quite frank I am embarassed because if the federations put in the work and 'Invest in Jamaica" I believe the would have many successes, for example, the Reggae Boyz and their road to France 1998. That team was filled with Jamaicans. They believed in themselves as well as people believed in them hence time and money was spent on them, they didn't win but they made history. These teams nowadays have no diplomacy, no patriotism and nothing but he thought of money. I believe having more Jamaicans on the team would enhance that. Belive in Jamaica, Invest in Jamaica
Invest In Jamaica
Jamaica has been know to produce talented people in all feilds imaginable, With that said I believe Jamaica can produce an amazing football team without majority of the team being foreigners. The Jamaica under 20 boys team who has little investment put into them before were able to draw with one of the best teams in the league Mexico. The point that am getting at is that we do not have to get foreigners to play on our local teams, when we have Jamaicans who are better, ready and able to train, just waiting for an opportunity to play for their country. If the sports federation invests in football camps in Jamaica for children who display amazing talents in boys and girls football leagues. and work on them, form a club, have open invitations so that countries can play against them and by the time they reach the national level they would be unstoppable.
For Jamaica to have the majority of the team foreigners it means more money being spent, for example, the coach cannot just call an emergency camp because players would be all over the world (literally). When players are coming to Jamaica for camps their plane tickets, hotel and transportation fees have to be taken care of that is more money being spent. This is an open appeal to the powers that be such as the Ministry of Sports,the Football Federation etc. to put in place policies to ensure that majority in the team are Jamaicans or that Jamaica is priority when scouting players. For this to work first it will have to start at the highest level having camps and training them and basically investing in Jamaica. Please sign my petition and support my cause.
