There have been cases brought to light by the Daily Telegraph investigation, of Members of Parliament who have been claiming mortgage interest payments through the allowance system, when those mortgages have already been paid up.
I would like the Metropolitan Police to investigate those cases and put their findings to the CPS and Director of Public Prosecutions to ascertain if there is a case for prosecuting those MPs.
We the undersigned hereby petition the Metropolitan Police Commissioner to investigate the potential fraud arising from Members of Parliament claiming mortgage interest on mortgages that have already been paid up and to put their findings to the CPS and DPP to ascertain if there is a case to answer.
