A feature that has been longed for on Instagram is the implementation of releasing inactive usernames. This would mean that if a user has not signed into the account for about a year, the username would be available for others to use. The current situation is that there are many inactive accounts with decent names which other users would love to have. This would help new creators post more photos on better accounts rather than people who probably either no longer use instagram or just forgot about their accounts in general.
Releasing inactive user names for other user's to actually use would be a feature that would help a lot of new potential creators to share their own images and would satisfy a lot of people since this has been a major topic of discussion. I hope that if this petition gains enough followers/signature, it will open the Instagram team's eyes and they would implement such a feature.
