It has come to the attention of the band parents that the band is over budget for operation and transportation costs this year. While the Medina Valleyy HS Football team has enjoyed an exemplary year and has excelled through the playoffs, success comes with a price.
The band enjoys their role of showing support and helping boost the spirit of the fans and football team during the games but is showing a negative transportation budget due to the extra travel involved during the playoffs.
The football team trains long an hard to be a success and their training shows during the games. The band also spends many hours working and training for success.
In addition to supporting the football team, the band also works to prepare for and travels to contests, competitions and concerts throughout the area. The band members give their all to fulfil their potential and meet the obligations and challenges ahead of them throughout the year. They will not be successful in these endeavors without the financial assistance needed for travel to these various events.
As parents who pay school taxes for the district it is our concern that some organizations receive a healthier budget than others. While it is understandable that the football team would have a larger budget as money is needed for uniforms, pads, coaches, trainers, etc, the band also needs some assistance as they travel with the football team during the playoff games.
While most expenses can be budgeted for prior to the school year, no one knows how well the football team will play during the playoffs, and often times, those extra games and travel expenses cannot be accounted for during the annual budget meetings. As the band continues to support the football team through the playoffs, additional funding is required to cover the expenses already incurred and cover future costs competitions, parades, concerts, and other band activities.
The MVHS band parents are requesting your assistance in obtaining the necessary funding for the band's travel expenses.
We, the undersigned, are individuals concerned about the funding that is required to assist the band at present time and in the future.
