There is to be a change in the childcare sector in 2014 changing the current childcare ratios from 5:1 to be 4:1.
What this means is that there will be increases in family daycare fees by at least 25-30% and it is estimated by at least 70% per hour in preschool and long daycare centres.
We would like to see an increase of $2.50 to the Child Care Benefit (CCB) contributions due to the change in children/educator ratios which are to be brought into effect 2014.
This proposal will help families cope with sudden fee increases brought about by the government's decision.
