Petition to have a traffic light installed at the intersection of US Highway 301 N and Rutland Rd, also known as County Road 675 in Parrish, Florida. The juncture of these streets is extremely dangerous and numerous accidents have occurred causing grievous bodily injuries and destruction of property. The last fatality was June 18, 2018 of a beautiful and young 22 year old woman. If a traffic light was at this intersection, we believe many lives would still be here with us.
When trying to turn left onto 301 N from Rutland Rd, drivers have an extremely hard time seeing traffic coming from the right if cars and trucks are blocking as they are turning onto Rutland Rd or turning right onto 301 N.
We the undersigned citizens of Parrish, Florida, as well as visitors of the Parrish area residing outside, petition to have a traffic light installed at the intersection of US Highway 301 N and Rutland Rd, also known as County Road 675 in Parrish, Florida. The juncture of these streets is extremely dangerous and numerous accidents have occurred causing grievous bodily injuries and destruction of property.
The notoriety of this intersection needs to end. The most recent fatal accident at this intersection was on June 18, 2018, and this was one of many that have occurred within the past couple years. Year after year calamitous accidents have been recorded. This must end. The clear and present danger represented by this intersection has been noted by all in the community. These roads are getting more heavily trafficked especially with semi trucks as well.
To redress this problem we petition to have a traffic light installed at this location.
