• Kings College Hospital is one of the top hospitals in Europe. The nearest railway station is Denmark Hill, which has no disabled access.
• The Evelina Children’s hospital is also one of the top hospitals. Many children from the South East with specialist needs have regular appointments there. To travel there by rail, it is necessary to change trains at Clapham Junction, which has no disabled access.
• The Royal Alexander Children’s hospital, in Brighton has quite limited parking, and more often than not there are no spaces left.
These three facts are relevant to many families in the south East, who for various reasons have regular hospital appointments to attend. Improvements in access to these hospitals would help the huge number of people who attend appointments, and would make a vast difference to those who will have regular appointments indefinitely.
We, the undersigned, would like to see the installation of lifts at Clapham Junction and Denmark Hill. (Alternatively, a subway linking Denmark Hill to Kings College Hospital would greatly improve access.)
We also ask for increased parking facilities at The Royal Alexander.
