At the Indiana State Fair Horse and Pony contesting show I saw several horses slip and fall in the show arena. I believe several of these incidents could have been prevented with better footing in the show arena.
This petition is to show that there is a concern for the safety of the horses and the children that show in the speed events at the state fair.
I believe an expert in arena footing should be brought in and give guidance on what could be done to make the show safer for every one.
We, the undersigned, call on Indiana State Fair and Board of Directors to consult with an expert in arena footing for the speed classes at the Indiana State Fair.
If any recommendations are given, act upon them for the safety of the children and horses.
