The Sunshine Motorway north of Maroochydore through Coolum to Noosa is possibly the coast's deadliest road.
Every year scores of local residents and visitors alike lose their life on this road. It is well over-due for an overhaul.
The volume of traffic on this road and the fatalities that are mounting up year after year must demand a serious undertaking to make it a safer road.
This could be achieved by properly dividing the road and doubling the lanes.
