We writing to you at this time to seek your assistance in the situation of Syrian journalist Bilal Ahmed Bilal.
Bilal Ahmed Bilal is graduate of Arts and Humanities at the University of Damascus. Worked as a television journalist and filmmaker in Syria. Bilal has been held for over a year incommunicado.
Bilal Ahmed Bilal was sentenced to 15 years in prison by a military court on 12 June because of his coverage of events in the west Damascus district of Mo’damieh Sham in 2011.
We request for a strong diplomatic pressure for his immediate release. Thanking you in advance for your time on this important and urgent matter.
