Thanks to everyone who supported this petition. I found out that each state handles it's own healthcare issues, as far as children are concerned.
If you feel strongly about my petition please continue to advocate for children, by contacting your local representative or congressman in your state.
I intend on continuing the good fight, and have written the president a letter on a similar but a little bit separate issue: of how there has to be more communication between parents and physicians as far as their child's shots.
1. Parents should be given a sheet of paper that tells them what shots their children are going to receive, how many, what is the shot for.
2 can the shots be separated with more than one visit, if the parent of physician feels, that too many shots for a child at one time might be detrimental to the child, for health reasons, or other factors.
3 that physicians ask parents if their child has any allergies or health risks that the shots might aggravate. Do you know that none of these issues were brought up by any of my sons pediatricians. It should be mandatory in each state that these points are covered by giving parents a sheet of paper covering these points and discussed with the parents by the physician, before the shots are actually given. I know my child could of been prevented a lot of health problems, by just taking these simple measures. Thanks again all who participated.
Our actions were not in vane. I placed my petition on Facebook, Twitter, and My Space!
I became aware of how speciality medical care is lacking for special needs kids, while trying to get medical attention for my own son. Even though I got the state involved, after frustrating and futile attempts to get help from pediatricians, who were either untrained in dealing with a child who had mental, emotional, and behavioral problems, or just wanted to pass the buck and not refer or come up with any kind of diagnosis.
Even though I got the state to help, it was a year and four months before the agency they gave me a referral for, upon my request, even contacted me. The agency in question, after one year and four months finally sent me medical forms to fill out for my son. Advising me, that if my son did not fit their medical Drs. criterior, that they would be glad to send him elsewhere.
In the meantime, while this agency was getting their, act together, I of course tried to find more immediate medical attention for my son. I found a screening program, but they also did not provide my son the help he desperately needed. I propose that children that are not functioning by forty percent in their home lives, school lives, and social lives; and there should be testing set up to gauge for this , it should be made law that a Dr. has to see them immediately.
Special needs children cannot wait! It delays their emotional and overall well being!
Thank You.

We the undersigned, call for immediate medical attention for children that show physical, mental, emotional, or behavior disabilities; that affect their functioning in their home life, school life, and social life, by forty percent. There should be testing set up to gauge this. It should be law that the medical community cannot turn these children away and make them wait to be seen for months or a year.
A child should not have to wait any longer than two weeks or one month. Parents should be notified by the Dr. ahead of time if it will take longer for their child to be seen; so parents don't get stuck in the quagmire of committing to one Dr. with their insurance, only to find that the Dr. cannot see their child till months later.
We ask that the legislature and Congress pass a law For Immediate medical Care for children that fall into the range of forty percent of nonfunctioning in social, school, and homelife situations. Special needs children cannot wait for their developmental and emotional well being!
