When I was born, my mummy and daddy were told they could not register my birth. This was because I was classified stillborn as I was over the 24+-week gestation at 28 weeks. I was given no real details just an entry of stillbirth (now a stillbirth certificate) that said who my mummy and daddy were and where I was stillborn. I am a female nobody without a proper birth and death certificate, I have no name to register my existence I am a lost soul...
My mummy and her friend Clair are fighting to have the law changed to allow me, Natasha and Clair’s twins Charlotte and Naomi, also born still. The right to have a birth certificate and death certificate in recognition to our existence.
My mummy and Clair became friends and found out there are thousands of stillborns like us. They have now set up a campaign and a petition to allow others who feel this law should be changed giving the recognition to all the stillborn souls and a proper registration of a birth certificates and a death certificate, after all our mummies did give birth to us.
