HRT- Give women back their Treatment Options!!

Hi everyone,

I am creating this event to try and get as many people on board as I can to show the Government and MSD Australia that what they have done is NOT fair!

I am a 24 year old woman, a wife, and Mummy to a beautiful little boy. I unfortunately had to undergo a Hysterectomy, and then further surgery which put me into instant Surgical Menopause.

Because of this, and especially my age, I had to go straight on to HRT. I was first put on the Oest...radiol Patches, but suffered an allergic reaction, next came the tablets, same thing. I then had an Oestradiol Pellet inserted into my stomach and it worked really well for a while. I was due to get my next one inserted, only to find out they were now no longer being manufactured.

My specialist said I only had one other option and that was the gels, within an hour of putting the first gel on, I was back at the hospital with another allergic reaction.

This now means I am on no treatment, which not only does it make the day to day living with menopause of hot flushes, headaches, mood swings etc, but it now means my bones are starting to deteriorate, my Vitamin D levels are already at 16, if I continue with no treatment I am going to be like an elderly woman.Not to mention the risk of stroke, heart disease etc.
I am not even 25 years old, I have a 2 year old, I NEED to be able to be an active, normal, healthy woman. My specialist has told me that about 6 yrs ago they stopped the manufacture on another drug, and basically when enough people complained they started making it again. So that is what I am trying to achieve.

While it's all well and good for them to say there is other options out there for MOST people, what about the ones like me, who this was their only option?
