Have you had enough of the speeding traffic in Horbury? We have!
We are a small group of Horbury residents trying to get something done about the traffic that is allowed to speed through Horbury unpoliced.
The A642 Horbury ByPass is now an incredibly busy road - even the last few years has seen an incredible increase in the volume of traffic using this road. Couple this with the lack of speed cameras and other deterrents, and we seem to have become the local race track.
We have spoken with Wakefield Council and, with the help of other local residents and councillors, have made some progress. However, we require your help to ensure we get some real change!
In brief we are seeking:
●Closure of the branch road leading from Quarry Hill to Hifghfield Road - to prevent traffic speeding towards St Peters Junior School and the centre of Horbury.
●Speed reduction on the A642 ByPass to 30mph and closure of the overtaking lane from Daw Lane to the Addingford crossroads.
