Honoring Marcy Kagan

This petition is to demonstrate the strong outpouring of support in the community of Old Bridge and also past and present employees of the library who would like to honor our friend and co-worker Marcy Kagan. Marcy passed away December 22
2020 at the age of 54. She worked at the library for 26 years, She started as a page and at the time of her death, she was one of the few staffers to work through the pandemic.
Marcy wore many different hats at the library. She was in charge of all the displays, many of which were very intricate and created on her own time. She was the leader of the popular Craft Club, which started out with a couple of patrons and grew to a good sized group of loyal followers.. She also worked in Adult Services and Youth Services as well as her job at the computer desk.
She was a longtime Union Rep and did not hesitate to speak her mind about issues that concerned the library. She assisted in negotiating several contracts over the years all in favor of the interest of the Old Bridge Township Library.
Marcy gave her heart and soul to the library. She was always happy to change her schedule to help out a co-worker.
We the undersigned, would like to honor her memory by planting a lilac bush in the library's garden and to have a small plaque to commemorate her years of service and devotion to the library placed near the bush. While there have been many staffers who left the library after many years, few were as devoted and dedicated as Marcy
