Hold The Line

For many years, Monroe residents have voted down countless referendum votes, forcing the Town of Monroe and the Monroe Board of Education to make cuts in order to keep the district operating. Year after year, the edges of the Educational System have been cut away, leaving us in the past few years with difficult choices to make. How do we save money? Do we fire staff? Or cut Programs?? Do we eliminate the Arts?? Or stop supporting Sports??

These are all things that are becoming a reality this year. We started to see pieces of it all coming together last year when they began to make the deep cuts, with the possible elimination of a Masuk Band Director, but we also know that we can do something about it. We must all stand up, in greater force and numbers and we must make our voices heard!

This year, we will all be affected, as well as our predecessors, if we don't stand up now, we will face losing our quality education and it will effect the rest of our lives. STAND UP AND BE HEARD!
