My Name is Christian Stevens. I am a 31 year old African American male from Pittsburgh Pa. I recently came home from prison. I spent 10 years of my life behind bars. I came home November 2016 and 7 months later they put me right back behind bars. I assure you that the person I used to be still remains some of the core values you remember me for such as Family Orientation, Loyalty, honesty, and determination. During my time in prison gave me time to grow into a better person and to gain other good qualities in order to become a "well rounded" individual. Prison is something I had to experience in order to strive to discover and begin to live up to my fullest potential. Maturity is the biggest new trait I gained while in Prison, and I am now spending the majority of my time attempting to identify ways in which I can improve on myself even more.
When I came home from Prison in November I tried my best to show my love ones I was a changed man but I didn't have a lot of time to prove myself. When I was home I spent most of my time in School, Work, or with my son Christian Jr. My mother Diane S is very sick and I spent time taking care of her by taking her to her doctors appointments and doing anything she needs done around the house. My son and fiancé both lived with me and I took care of my son daily to make up for lost times. I am learning how to be a good father to not only my son Christian, but his brother Tyshawn. Tyshawn is not my blood son but I was his father figure since he was born so it is still my responsibility and duty to raise him as my own. while I was home I spent time in the community with my family spending as much time as I could with them.
I am asking people to sign my petition so that I can come home on bond to be with my family. I proven I am not a threat to others or my community in fact I'm a loving and caring person who would give anything to help those in need. I need to be with my mother in her time of need. I do not deserve to be in the place that I am in now seeing that I do not cause trouble. The little time I did have when I was home I shown that I was a hard worker and my priorities has changed from when I was 19 years old. My priorities are taking care of and raising my two sons and also taking care of my mother and making sure she is okay. I am also working on being a better man for my fiancé but better yet myself. I am no harm to the community or a flight risk I would never leave my family again. Being in prison is not where I want to be or imagined I would be at this point in my life but sad to say I am here. Please help me come home to my family and friends by signing this petition. Thank you in advance and your help is much needed and appreciated.
