Petition to the International Criminal Court

My name is Simon Petrus Sapioper, President of the National Government of the Republic of West Papua in exile and head of the West Papua struggle at the United Nations.

I have taken responsibility throughout the years and took initiatives for the West Papua struggle worldwide.
I am a political refugee from West Papua (Indonesia) who is against the Indonesian occupation, and i am against human rights violation and crimes against humanity committed against the people of West Papua since 1969.

Even today after a democracy replaced the dictatorial regime of President Soeharto, many years ago, West Papua still one of the most suppressed places on the planet. Human rights are not respected . People are getting murdered, women getting raped, and peaceful protestors are disappearing in prisons without fair trials.

We’ve been observing and we see the same Indonesian military, who were responsible for the immense torture and genocide in East Timor, are now committing the same offenses in West Papua.

West Papuans continue to flee and there are thousands of refugees worldwide.

West Papua is rich in natural sources and huge investments are being made by the US and Western countries, in copper and mineral mining. Because all this, West Papua is rare and much valuable to the Indonesian government and therefore they rule with an iron fist against all challenging there rule, including against woman and children.

Today the people of West Papua need your help!

I am asking you for your attention and just a second of your time to sign a petition with us, addressed to the heads of the ICC (International Criminal Court), which the request to start investigating crimes against humanity committed by the TNI(Indonesian army) & Kopassus(Special forces) against the people of West Papua, since 1969) . This includes the terrible massacre of Biak, in 1998 in West Papua where three hundred peaceful protesting Papuans were mercilessly tied up and thrown in the ocean, by special TNI and Kopassus units of the Indonesian army.
After bodies washed up the coast the next day, the Indonesian government said they were victims, of a Tsunami in Papua new Guinea, that occurred some 1000 kilometers away. Not a single person was ever prosecuted for this.

We, the indigenous people of West Papua, have the right to protect our land, our dignity and our identity. We have the right to determine our own future.
