Policing has been a major concern in Lennox Head and surrounding areas with residents saying it is a widening problem. Eva would like to spearhead an ambitious masterplan to encourage a new location for a Police Station in Lennox Head next to the New Fire Station on the corner of Huntly Drive and Byron Road.
This is Council held land and had been set aside for relocation of a Pre-School, they have now decided to discontinue with their redevelopment, as the new public-school facilities will cater for the requirements of a pre-school.
A local police station facilitates community policing, where officers can build strong relationships with residents. This approach fosters trust and cooperation between the police and the community, making it easier to address specific local issues.
Officers’ familiar with the area can better understand the unique challenges and needs of our community, providing more effective and personalized law enforcement. This collaboration can lead to proactive problem-solving, creating a safer and more cohesive community. With the growth of the area this is a prominent issue.
I, the undersigned, urge local government officials to establish a new police station in Lennox Head, NSW to ensure safety and security within our community and surrounding areas.
With the rising crime rate, it is crucial to have a more robust police presence to alleviate slow response times and low police numbers. Concerned citizens, parents, guardians, and community people are deeply worried about the safety of our community. We are experiencing an increase in incidents of drug use, bullying, break-ins, car theft, robbery, vandalism, and the safety of our elderly.
The presence of additional police station will:
1. ** Enhance Public Safety: A dedicated police presents will help deter crime and respond more efficiently to emergencies. A visible police presence deters crime and ensures a secure environment for shoppers, employees, and visitors.
2. **Build Community Trust: Regular police presence will foster better relationships and trust between law enforcement and residents.
3. **Prevent Crime: Proactive policing strategies can help prevent crime before it happens.
4. ** Enhance the Safely of Our Seniors
5. **Youth Protection: To feel safe in our community skate parks, streets and playgrounds.
6. **Ensure Safe School Environment: Dedicated officers can collaborate closely with schools to provide a secure environment for our children.
7. **Prevent Youth Crime: Early intervention programs and youth outreach initiatives by the police can steer young people away from criminal activities.
8. **Promote Positive Role Models: Police officers can serve as positive role models and mentors for our youth.
9.**Protect Vulnerable Seniors: Increased police presence can help prevent crimes targeting elderly residents.
10.**Improve Emergency Response: Quicker response times can make a significant difference in emergencies.
11**Provide Peace of Mind: A safer environment will offer peace of mind to residents and their families.
12.**Encourage Business Investment: Businesses are more likely to invest in areas with low crime rates and strong law enforcement.
13 **Promote Community Growth: A safe community is a thriving community, attracting new residents and fostering local development.
Council land is available next to the new Fire Station on the corner of Huntly Drive and Byron Road, a perfect location for quick access to the upper shire and Freeway.
We urge you to consider our request to establish a new police station to support community safety, and economic growth and ask that you advocate for the establishment of new police station to protect our community whilst fostering a safer environment conducive to wellbeing and economic growth.
