I’m really concerned about the MATATAG curriculum because it gives us too much work and raises the passing grade, making it hard for us to succeed. Many students feel overwhelmed by the amount of homework and tests, leading to stress, burnout, and even depression. The pressure to meet these high standards has been linked to increased feelings of hopelessness among students, and some reports suggest a rise in suicide rates related to academic stress. It’s frustrating that people keep saying the problems are just about the students or the curriculum, without recognizing the real challenges these changes create. I believe we should consider reverting back to the K-12 curriculum, which was more manageable and allowed students to learn at a pace that suited them better. This could help reduce the workload and provide a healthier learning environment, making it easier for us to succeed academically.
I’m really concerned about the MATATAG curriculum because it places too much work on students and raises the passing grade, making it hard to succeed. Many students feel overwhelmed by the volume of assignments and tests, leading to stress and burnout. This pressure can negatively impact mental health and contribute to feelings of hopelessness. It’s frustrating that the blame often falls on students or the curriculum itself, without recognizing the real challenges these changes create. The heavy workload and higher expectations don’t consider that students learn at different paces, making it even harder to thrive in school.
