Give Eastlands its Kippax

This isn't a petition to demand anything, it is a petition to provide an avenue to show how many supporters would like this to happen.

Eastlands is a superb ground which can produce a cracking atmosphere but as with all new grounds it takes time for fans to adjust to their new "homes" and after 6 years it is finally starting to feel like home. We are grateful to the club for bringing in singing sections to improve the atmosphere and decorating the outside of the spirals but as with everything, there is always room for improvement.

The new owners in September put out a statement which stated they wanted to keep the "traditions and values" of the club. The Kippax was a big part of this glorious club where many fans watched their first game from and where the Maine Road atmosphere was produced.

The Eastlands atmosphere comes from a couple of blocks in the South Stand and the new Singing Section but is often out of synch with each other due to the away fans being placed in the middle.

Being next to the away fans creates banter and an atmosphere so we are not asking for them to be moved into the third tier or to another side of the ground. All we are wondering, is could the blocks 116, 115 and 114 which is the "away section" be moved to blocks 113, 112 and 111 so blocks 120 to 114 which is the majority of the South Stand will be full of loud, passionate in-tune City fans.

The club and the fans are longing for trophies and success and the other main problem the current arrangement brings is cup games at the ground. When we are drawn at home in cup competitions, we allow the away team to have the whole of the South Stand which splits up all the loudest blues. This gives the away team the advantage as they have 6,000 of their fans all in good voice supporting their side to victory while we as the home side can't generate an atmosphere to support our team to victory because the heart of the atmosphere has been split up to make way for the away fans. You don't see Liverpool giving up their kop end to accommodate thousands of opposing supporters. You have seen what a difference a good vocal backing of support gives to a side, you just have to look at Liverpool on European nights to tell you.

We have all seen what happens when you get a few thousand City fans in one area - we make ALOT of noise.

The new owners, coaching staff and the players will be doing all they can to make this club successful. The only thing us fans can do to help this club be successful is support it 100% by making as much noise as we possibly can. Please would you consider giving us our Kippax so we have a platform where we can do this from.

**UPDATE**
At the Fans Forum on Tuesday 10th March which included Garry Cook, Mark Hughes and Richard Dunne - the topic of giving 'Eastlands it's Kippax' was brought up and the club said they were putting together a group to look into achieving this. Richard Dunne supported this idea by saying it gives the players a lift when the ground is buzzing so he is hoping the club can sort it.
