Translink should be acknowledging and creating a safe way for pedestrians to walk on and off Mitchell Island. Many people walk down the street each day risking their lives because there are no pedestrian pathways.
Translink has advised that there are no plans, but what will it take for them to make it a plan. They stated that there have been no complaints in 11 years so how many do they want? Pedestrians have made their own pathways off the road, but it is a steep hill and very slippery.
When it rains, there are very large puddles and pedestrians are forced to walk down the middle of the road. There is very heavy truck traffic here and it may cause terrible accidents which translink said will be the fault of the driver. So drivers and pedestrians should be aware and try and get pedestrian access.
People who care about us will appreciate our efforts.
Therefore, we should try to get as many people to sign this petition in order to get Translink to look into this seriously.
Translink asks that we use their roads and their transport so here is their chance to help us do so in a safe manner.
