Nikolas Cassadine and Emily Quartermaine had an innocent friendship which began when they were teenagers. Their friendship blossomed and they became more close when Emily was diagnosed with breast cancer. Emily asked Nikolas to pretend to be in love with her and they fell in love with one another.
Nikolas's kiss and love brought Emily back to life. Their love grew even stronger. As much as they tried to stay away from one another an suppress their feelings they couldn't. They were madly in love with one another. Emily and Nikolas went through hell and and back, marrying people they didn't love.
Overcoming so many things that tried to get in the way of their love until they finally got married. Just when they were beginning their life together more conflict would ensue and tear them apart again. Ex. The Amnesia story line, the sexual assault by Connor Bishop played by Tyler, which after that the love and innocence was lost. Their love was tainted.
The writers tainted their innocent romantic beautiful love affair with aggression and sexual assault and them turning on each other. Emily could not stand the thought of being with Nikolas since he looked like Connor. Soap fans were not happy with how things ended between them and how the writers then killed Emily off by the text message killer.
After killing Emily off Nikolas was never the same no matter who the writers tried to pair him with. The women he had after that never loved him like Emily did. There was no passion, no intensity. They didn’t look at him the same way Emily did and he didn’t look at these women the same.
Natalia played Emily Quartermaine with such love, innocence, vulnerability and passion and so did Nikolas. He was the epitome of what a man should be and how he should love a woman. He was the perfect gentleman. We need more of that on Daytime television.
I and on behalf of many soap fans of General Hospital and fans of Tyler Christopher and Natalia Livingston, who played Nikolas Cassasdine and Emily Quartermaine, we ask that the writers and producers of the show find a way to bring Emily Quartermaine back from the dead so she can reunite with the love of her life Nikolas Cassadine.
Soap fans would love to see their love story continue. The way Nikolas looked at Emily with all that love, fire and passion in his eyes and in his heart was the reason why so many fell in love with Nikolas’s and Emily’s love. We want that back. The writers broke up a beautiful couple. They were each others air.
