Free the orcas and dolphins

My petition is to help end the captivity of orcas and dolphins from slavery. As of right now there are 56 orcas in captivity. There is also over 100 dolphins in captivity. And over 100 beluga whales in captivity. In captivity orcas and dolphins are subjected to perform shows several times a day but for what our entertainment,a little fun,so Sea World and other aquariums can collect money from these beautiful creatures preforming shows. In captivity there have been 163 orcas that have died in captivity.

There have been orcas in captivity that have got pregnant and and out of the 56 orcas in captivity the ones who got pregnant have had 30 miscarriages or still born births. There are people who want to end the slavery and retire the whales to sea pens in the ocean. There willing to spend millions of dollars to do these. During the time the orcas are in the sea pens they would be taught to hunt fish,forage,and go on boat walks.

Once they feel the orcas are ready they would open the gate and allow them to join the other wild orca pods near by. In the wild orcas and dolphins swim up to 100 miles a day in captivity there lucky to swim a 100.laps a day. One of the oldest and longest orcas in captivity is Lolita at 4 years old she was ripped away from her family. During this capture 80.orcas were corralled into sea pens and 8 orcas were captured and sold to marine parks. For 6000 dollars Lolita was sold to the Miami sea aquarium for slavery and entertainment. She has been in captivity in for 45 years in the smallest tank of the United States which violates the Animal Welfare Acts minimum size requirement. To make matters worse Lolita has no shelter from the blistering Florida sun which is causing sun burn patches on her body. Lolita has no mental,physical, or emotional stimulation she usually just floats around the tank listlessly.Lolita did have a mate named Hugo but he died of a brain aneurysm because he repeatedly beat his head against his tank. Once he beat his head against the tank and broke the glass breaking the glass and breaking a piece off his nose and it had to be sewed back on by the vet. Once Hugo died the Miami sea aquarium took Hugo's body to the Miami Dade dump which is a landfill and dumped his body. Lolita's mother is still alive and still swims through where she was captured the people who want to retire her to a sea pen hope that when her family comes through and Lolita starts making the orca call that only her family would recognize that her family will welcome her with open arms.

Lolita is a 20 foot whale and 7000 pounds and is in a tank that from the front wall to the slide out barrier is only 35 feet and her tank depth is only 20 feet. Haven't we made these creatures suffer enough? Is if fair to subject them to do shows for our entertainment when they belong in the ocean. And the diet these orcas and dolphins are fed are frozen fish and there also given vitamin supplements. But in the wild they are always on the hunt for fish. Also Sea World has mixed different orcas they have transient whales in with southern resident whales which causes some of these whales to be attacked and bullied.

Orcas have been around for 11 million years well before humans. Let's put an end to these slavery these animals deserve to be in the ocean where they belong Also Sea World said wild orcas only live to be 25 to 50 years even jn the wild which we now to know to be false. Because we spotted a whale that is called granny whale who is 104 years old. Also in captivity orvas dorsal fins fold and bend down. But jn the wild they Cong have any signs of a bent over dorsal fun. I believe it's time we stand up for the rights of orcas and dolphins in captivity and get them out and back to natural water. This has gone on long enough let's end this let's.let Ora's and dolphins go it'only for them .
