Food Stamps for convicted drug felons

The federal government refuses to give foodstamps to anyone convicted of a drug felon. These people have to eat after their release and should not be discriminated against they have done their time and must not be made to continue to go without food or commit another crime as it is they cannot get a decent job because of the black mark against them.

Now that the economy is bad this lessens their chances even people who do not live in this country can get federal aid. Have the government ever stopped and check to see if they are sending money to convicted felons out of country?
