Colorado Highway 93 runs between Golden and Boulder. The entire highway is substandard, but in particular the stretch from the intersection with Colorado Highway 72 1.3 miles north to the west entrance to the Rocky Flats Wildlife Refuge is treacherous.
The highway is only two lanes with no shoulder, but it carries over 16,000 vehicles per day. There have been numerous serious accidents on this stretch of road in the past twenty years.
The Colorado Department of Transportation, Jefferson County and the City of Arvada should do whatever it takes to pave a reasonable shoulder on Highway 93 from Highway 72 to the Rocky Flats west entrance to help end the continuing carnage on this road.
