United States of America

The FCC has been told for YEARS that white space they claim is unused IS being used by film makers and videographers EVERY DAY for their wireless mics.

If the space is unoccupied, why have there been for years people designated as "Frequency Coordinators" in most areas of the US to help keep wireless mics from interfering with each other?

Not being able to use wireless mics will make it EXPONENTIALLY more difficult if/when Super Wi-Fi is allowed to claim the "unused white space" that tens of thousands of US professional film and video taxpayers are now using to make a living in a multi-billion dollar a year industry.

Without wireless mics, film production would change dramatically and more production companies would think about going to another country where their wireless mics will work, to shoot their films. Thus, further depleting the tax base by other "run-away productions."

Whereas the "unused white space" described by the FCC is, in fact used every day in the US,

Whereas the wide-spread ability to produce film and video in the US will be grossly and negatively effected if Super Wi-Fi takes away the frequencies currently being used by a multi-billion dollar industry that has been using these frequencies for decades,

We the undersigned call on the FCC, the applicable courts and agencies to reverse and/or suspend this decision pending due process and full testimony from workers, producers, manufacturers and any individuals deemed to be knowledgeable as it pertains to this vital issue.

And that only after the facts of actual spectrum use become evident and on the record, may a proper policy be formed that takes into consideration the extremely damaging ramifications this industry would suffer.

The FCC allocates "white space", but IT'S NOT WHITE!! petition to FCC was written by Ty Ford and is in the category Media Issues at GoPetition.
