Fannin for Affordable Housing

Friends family and neighbors of Fannin County we are in a new pandemic and it’s the tragedy of not having enough affordable housing for our local residence. There are people in this county living under bridges, living in the woods in tents, and seeking any shelter they can find because there’s not enough places to live that they can afford. Locals that have lived here for generations that have built this town are being priced right out of it. It’s called gentrification. Look that up if you need to. We have plenty enough places for the affluent to live as they are building million dollar cabins on our mountain tops and $450,000 condominiums downtown. This type of real estate causes taxes to soar which sends rent skyrocketing. Then we have out of town developers and investors buying up everything deemed affordable and flipping them in to short term rentals. Almost every business I know in this town is struggling for help not only because of stimulus and extra unemployment but because there’s literally no places to live for the middle class local work force. Please join me and sign this petition to help pass the new affordable housing in Fannin County. We know that there are council members that are against it as well as some citizens as there is a petition with 100 signatures opposing it.. Join me as an advocate for our friends and families and local people to have a safe place a clean place and an affordable place to lay their heads at night.
