Dear Cocke County Government Officials,
We — the residents of Cocke County, TN — respectfully request that you support the proposed emergency medical response resolution for our county to ensure the safety and well-being of the taxpayers, citizens, and visitors to Cocke County and its surrounding areas. We beseech you to consider each signature below, from active voting citizens of said county, to be in direct support of a resolution.
We are in agreement that each ambulance running on our streets should be on par with the current 911 EMS provider — complete with the necessary training for emergency medical technicians, equipment, and legal standard of products available. We ask that it be passed by executive order to speed the implementation of these proposed guidelines.
We refuse to compromise the care of our family members, neighbors, visitors, or ourselves in a life-threatening emergency situation. We are not content with Mayor Crystal Ottinger's statement that "Some medical care is better than no medical care.” We find this response to concerns about our life-threatening emergencies and/or medical transportation needs unacceptable.
As taxpayers, we are concerned for the health and safety of the general public. We agree, as a united whole, that we should receive fair and equal medical treatment from our ambulance provider(s) in this county. We respectfully request that you consider each signature as a vote in favor of this proposed resolution, which establishes regulations for all ambulances to be equally stocked with trained personnel and legal-standard life-saving equipment.
