We as a community feel it is now a necessity to extend the bus route 84 to start and finish in Newtownmountkennedy. We are a fast growing community with over 800 houses currently been developed. Currently there is no direct route from Newtown to Kilcoole this has a huge impact on the community children cannot take part in after school activities as there is no transport home. The local youth group links the two villages and currently with no mode of transport both communities are loseing out. We are 8km from Greystones yet it takes on average 45 minutes to get there so commuters are unable to avail of the Dart service. This service will not only help the people of Newtown but Kicoole,Newcastle, Greystones it would also be extremely usefull for tourists.We now feel the extension of the 84 route is now a necessity to accomadate the residence as we are the fastest growing village in Ireland.
We the undersigned are concerned citizens who urge the route planners in Dublin bus to extend the 84 route to start and finish in Newtownmountkennedy.
