Background: The Wagner Group, a private military company operating in various conflict zones, is steadily taking us back to a time when mercenary armies terrorised innocent civilians.
Their operations are driven by profit-seeking motives rather than genuine concerns for the well-being of the citizenry.
Their brand of nation building is at full display in Bachmunt, Khartoum, and Tripoli. Simply unacceptable.
The African Union, as a continental body committed to peace, stability, and the well-being of African nations, has a responsibility to address this grave issue. Expelling the Wagner Group from the continent will not only help bring sanity and pave a way towards peace to conflicts that have reached a stalemate of senseless violence but also serve as a deterrent to other mercenary groups that may seek to exploit African nations for their own gains.

We call upon the African Union to take immediate action to expel the Wagner Group from the African continent. The presence of this mercenary organization in several African countries, including Libya, Sudan, Mali, and the Central African Republic, has resulted in grave humanitarian crises and destabilisation of the region.
It is imperative that the African Union assert its authority and work towards ending the destructive activities of the Wagner Group.
By signing this petition, we urge the African Union to:
1.Condemn the actions of the Wagner Group and recognize their negative impact on peace and stability in Africa.
3. Sanction African leaders who have collaborated with the Wagner mercenaries.
2. Mobilize resources to investigate the full extent of the Wagner Group's operations and their involvement in conflicts across the continent.
3.Collaborate with regional bodies, international organizations, and concerned governments to establish effective mechanisms for monitoring and preventing the activities of mercenary groups in Africa.
3.Advocate for targeted sanctions and legal actions against individuals and entities associated with the Wagner Group, ensuring that they are held accountable for their actions.
4.Strengthen national and regional security frameworks to prevent the infiltration of mercenary groups, and provide support for conflict resolution and peace-building efforts.
