Indiana is known as the, "Land of the Indians," but there are no federally recognized tribes here in the state. Bloomington has taken a step by recognizing, "Fall Holiday," but I know we can take it to the step it should be. With Indiana University being comprised of .1% Native People, we need your help. Step up and walk with us from Dunn Meadow at 5:30 PM to the City Courthouse and sign below.
There will be times for both Native and nonnative people to speak, but we would like to prioritize the Native voices in this space.
We, the people of bloomington, residents and students alike, call on the city to officially recognize Indigenous People's day as a city holiday.

The Engage the City of Bloomington to Recognize Indigenous People's Day petition to Bloomington City Government was written by Caleb King and is in the category Local Government at GoPetition.
