This petition calls for the ban of non-local-delivery Class-A Commercial Truck traffic inside the Borough of Mechanicsburg.

Class-A Commercial Truck traffic inside the Borough of Mechanicsburg causes excessive congestion at intersections, minor traffic incidents, increased driver frustration, increased road wear and damage to curbs/signage at intersections.

As a Class-A CDL holder myself, I understand fully the challenging work commercial drivers endure. But our borough roads and intersections are simply too narrow to justify their continued use by commercial truck companies. There is an abundance of more suitable alternate routes to get commercial through-traffic to their destinations.

If you are a resident, business owner, or frequent visitor of the Borough of Mechanicsburg please SIGN and SHARE this petition to make our Borough streets more enjoyable!

Class A Commercial Truck is defined by the FMCSA as:
Any combination of vehicles which has a gross combination weight rating or gross combination weight of 26,001 pounds or more, whichever is greater, inclusive of a towed unit(s) with a gross vehicle weight rating or gross vehicle weight of more than 10,000 pounds, whichever is greater. Examples of such vehicles are: Tractor-trailers; Truck and trailer combinations; Double and triple trailers; Tractor-trailer buses; Tanker vehicles; Livestock carriers; Flatbeds.
