Over the years Liverpool John Moores University has been capping the student examination re-sit mark at 40% in any exam. Students should be given every chance to do the best that they can according to their performance in the re-sit examination.
Capping one's mark at 40% de-motivates an individual and is not fair after 3 or 4 years of studying particularly in the final year. This is detrimental to one's overall final grades and does not take into account all the work that has been done in the other years. This petition is needed to do away with this inequality in the university examination system.
This will give individuals the chance to be graded according to true performance and to motivate them because they are given another chance.
We the students of the Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) call on the LJMU examination board to eliminate the 40% cap on re-sit examinations.
A student re-sitting an examination should be given the best chance possible to perform according to their ability and not be capped.
