Election in Somaliland Chamber of Commerce

Somaliland has successfully and trasparently elected 5 president for the last 25 years.
Unfortunately, the Somaliland Chamber of Commerce has failed to call for a general assembly and organise free and transparent election to chose its members since 2008.
The role of the chamber of commerce is to represent the business community and to drive dialogue between private and public but also to develop the business capacities and capabilities.
Dialogue between a government newly elected and business community representatives in place for 10 years can never be efficient and result oriented.
It is therefore crucial for the chamber of commerce representatives to call for a general assembly where every single business owner can vote transparently and fairly.
We call for the chamber of commerce general assembly in order to elect its president and members.
