Elementary schools have become differrent over the past 50 years. Lately, children have lost interest in the classroom.
We want to make it our objective to increase the fun of learning at school. We CAN make a difference in children's lives.
We petition the state to remove the writing portfolios from the statewide CATS assessment program for elementary school students. Instead require elementary schools to use writing portfolios as an instructional tool for continuous assessment of students.
In doing this, the students will receive a better assessment of their writing skills.
In the future, their increased writing skills will be attributed to the progressive learning in school.
