The NJSIAA had voted to realign long standing interscholastic (high school) athletic leagues throughout Bergen County and northern New Jersey to remedy "competitive imbalances" between public and non-public schools.
Rather than confront the real issue by the rise and domination of non-public athletic hybrid magnet programs; the NJSIAA chose to dismantle long
standing athletic conferences throughout our region.
WE believe non-public schools should compete against non-public schools.
WE believe competitive imbalances still exist and shall perpetuate under the NJSIAA's existing realignment plan.
WE believe that long standing "neighborhood" leagues be restored.
WE believe the additional travel distance, travel time and travel expense is unreasonable, unnecessary and imposes a significant burden upon students, student athletes, parents, fans and taxpayers.
WE believe that public school student athletes should not suffer as victims or collateral damage because of ambition, cowardice, greed and politics.
WE request our coaches, athletic directors, high school principals, district superintendents, school board trustees AND county and state appointed and elected officials of government to provide support, assistance and leadership to correct this situation.

WE the people undersigned, call upon the leadership of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association, (Executive Director and Executive Committee) to DEALIGN interscholastic athletic conferences and leagues in Bergen County and northern New Jersey.
WE the people undersigned, whose children participate and whose labors pay for these programs and facilities; demand our collective voice and will be respected.
