I don't have a background for this. I'm just a student who wants an equal dress code. Here's part of a book I'm writing. " The first thing I do every morning is wake up, duh. So, obviously, I woke up. This isn’t my room. I think to myself. And it isn’t my room. It’s the exact opposite of my room except that it belongs to a girl. But that is where the similarities ended. My actual room is what my mom calls “messy” and what I call “neatly disorganized”. I always know where things are, so it’s not exactly messy. But, this room is neat and clean. And so bright. There are a lot of windows, all with the blinds and curtains open. I always have my one window, blinds, and curtain closed, as I prefer the dark. I looked around and saw a girl come in with a tray that held a variety of foods. I suddenly remembered how hungry I was. I hadn’t eaten in, I think, one or two weeks. Maybe more."
I've done research, and, like most, the dcisd dress code is more biased against girls. Sign and I'll try to talk to the school superintendent or the school board.
