APPLICATION BY COMMODORE KITCHENS LTD OF ACORN HO., GUMLEY ROAD, GRAYS, ESSEX RM20 4XP FOR A LICENSE TO USE UNITS 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13 & 14 COWARD INDUSTRIAL ESTATE, ST JOHN’S ROAD, CHADWELL ST MARY, GRAYS, ESSEX RM16 4BF AS AN OPERATING CENTRTE FOR 17 GOODS VEHICLES AND 2 TRAILERS.
This application has been submitted to the Traffic Commissioners and publicised 17/1/2019. If granted it would add significantly to the lorry-traffic already using roads in Chadwell St Mary, and if granted unconditionally would have a detrimental effect on the lives of local residents. The yard is situated close to several residential roads; namely Linford Road, St John's Road, St Michael's Road and Hill House Drive.
The petition will be copied to Commodore Kitchens Ltd in accordance with Traffic Commissioners requirements.
We the undersigned wish to protest the above application for the following reasons:
We are concerned at the possible pressure on local roads, some of which are subject to a 7.5 tonne weight restriction;
There is no indication that any conditions would be attached if the application were to be granted; these should include hours during which lorries can operate from the yard (0730 to 1900 weekdays, 0730 to 1300 Saturdays and nil on Sundays and bank holidays and a limit on the time that lorries engines are permitted to idle (5 minutes).
There would be an adverse impact on the local environment, both in terms of noise, additional pollution by exhaust fumes and extra traffic-movements that would impact on residents of St John’s Road, Linford Road, St Michael’s Road and Hill House Drive.
