An external portable hard drive, containing personal information on 583,000 Canada Student Loan borrowers who were clients of the Canada Student Loans Program (CSLP) from 2000-2006 has been lost from an HRSDC office in Gatineau, Quebec.
We feel we have misplaced our trust in the Canada Student Loans Program. We have paid tens of thousands of dollars for our education to have our, names, Social Insurance Numbers, dates of birth, contact information and loan balance of Canada Student Loan borrowers, mishandled in such a fashion as to open us up to identity theft. Effectively selling our identities.
We the undersigned feel we should have these outstanding debts waived in response to the gross incompetence of our government in handling such sensitive information.
