Soldiers from Colchester Garrison are currently on a six-month tour of duty in the Helmand province of Afghanistan, the scene of bitter fighting with Taliban insurgents.
It is only right therefore, that when our town's soldiers return, we mark their work with a homecoming parade.
Recognition for those who returned, remembering of those who did not.
We the undersigned believe it is right to recognise the work and scarifice of the Parachute Regiment in Afghanistan by providing them with a Homecoming Parade in Colchester, their regimental base, and call upon those in authority to give recognition to those who returned and remember those who did not.
