R. Paul Martin Construction Co. Ltd Owner of 2880 Princess St. is proposing to build 10 12 story apartment buildings at the address with 1100+ units total. This is well outside the scope of the neighborhood and significantly impacts the enjoyment and privacy of neighboring residential & commercial properties (including daycares and institutions under development in the area). The City of Kingston's Cataraqui West in which the Woodhaven, and Cataraqui Woods & Midland Park Subdivisions were built to, were built with the intent that this property be zoned as commercial. If the developer had of expressed their intent earlier prior to development of the area this would have impacted other bylaw amendments, public amenities, green space/park space, etc. Increasing the density of the area with a very high density of that magnitude throws the Cataraqui West Secondary plan out of balance with the neighborhood and eliminates the future possibilities of commercial amenities for the neighborhood (grocery stores, pharmacies, doctors offices, ect.).
We, the undersigned are opposed to the zoning bylaw amendment D14-D13-2018 for 2880 Princess St by R. Paul Martin Construction Co. Ltd and wish for City Staff and Council to reject the proposal.
