Per a public notice in the Cleveland Advocate dated DN 1/25/2017, local residents have been told there would be a bill presented to the State of Texas Legislature to form a Municipal Utility District in and around the city limits of Plum Grove, Texas.

There has been no public discussion of this matter and people living in the city limits of Plum Grove and the Extra Jurisdictional Territory may be affected to include the ability of the MUD to assess new taxes, bonds and the possibility of annexation.
We, the undersigned, call upon the City Mayor, Larry McMillian and City Council of Plum Grove, our State Representatives Ernest Bailes and Will Metcalf, our State Senators, Robert Nichols and Brandon Creighton to deny the application of the Plum Grove Municipal Utility District #1 aka Liberty County MUD #? and any Municipal Management District. We are asking for a reasonable amount of public hearings to be held in the local community that is directly involved by this MUD/MMD formation. Residents need to get the proper information along with complete transparency which they have not been given about this MUD/MMD and decide if they want to have an additional taxing entity and the possibility of being annexed into the MUD/MMD in the future.
