As a teacher I have watched the evolution of young people's health in the education system. The most recent manifestation of ill health in our young scholars is stress and anxiety disorders.
I think that we should come together to try to alleviate anxiety in these most precious and vulnerable members of our society.
We can make a difference with just one small step; take coercion out of homework. This would help ease a lot of stress and tension in the young person and in the home.
We the undersigned are calling on all caring teachers to stop the spread of anxiety in children by changing the nature of homework from coercive to cooperative.
