This petition is get the UK law of 'Death by Careless Driving' changed so that motorists and others take notice that they cannot drive wrecklessly, kill innocent people and get away with it. The current laws are far too lenient and need to be looked at again.
My Dad was killed by a bus whilst riding his bicycle home from work, the bus-driver only received 250 community service, 18 month driving ban and a 12 month community order. I feel more custodial sentences should be handed out and longer driving bans should be put in place.
We, the undersigned, call on 10 Downing Street, Birmingham City Council and the Criminal Justice System to change the current laws for 'Death by Careless driving' and to give out more stricter punishments (I.e. Custodial sentences, Longer driving bans).
