Our year timetable clearly shows that at the end of Placement E (wb 19th March-23rd April) the following week as a reading week, then the exam week and then annual leave. Thus giving the nursing students a week to concentrate solely on revision for the exam.
The exam timetable has been released informing us that the date of the Advanced Therapeutics exam is on the 1st of May, in fact being held two days after placement E ends (excluding the weekend). No warning has been given to the students informing them that the exam has been moved forward and there would be no reading week to revise.
The fact is that the students will also have two hand in's around that time including a 5000 word dissertation and 1000 word reflection. The advanced Therapeutics lecturer, Danny, told us at the beginning of the module that the last cohort to sit the exam, only 50% passed.
It is now clear why they didn't pass. And this cohort will not be going the same way, thus providing the need for this petition.
We, the undersigned, call on the Dean of University of Hertfordshire to change the Advanced Therapeutics exam date to when it was originally scheduled, in the exam week beginning 7th of May.
