Calling Supporters of Free CDTA Trial/Study

Dear Friends of Struggling Families,

County Legislator Sam Fein, Mayoral Candidate Lukee Forbes, and Common Council Candidate Richard-Olivier Marius, seek the help of all concerned citizens to push for improved public transportation access in Albany.

Several months ago, Albany County Legislator Sam Fein introduced a proclamation to implement fare-free public transportation; Capital District Transportation Authority would initiate a temporary trial period with a study component to assess the feasibility and impact of providing free bus service for commuters in Albany County.

At a time when so many families--regardless of political affiliation, race, or other sociocultural affiliation--are struggling to find the funds to pay bills, eat healthy foods, and live comfortably, it is imperative we exhaust all remedies at all levels of government to help citizens be happy. As our working community faces so many setbacks, we have to also keep in mind the positive effects this program will have on our homeless population and services. By starting an exciting new program and analyzing its impact on real people in real time, we will gain concrete knowledge about the possibilities of true government action that actually help people stay afloat, financially, and be happy.
