Bring Trader Joes to Hillsborough, New Jersey

We The People of Hillsborough, New Jersey request that the Trader Joe's Company consider our beautiful community for one of it's future homes for it's incredible franchise. We have executed this Petition to bring Trader Joe's to Hillsborough as a plea to help our growing community not only have convenient access to healthier and unique, quality food, but to bring a greater service to this township that continues to grow and prosper.

Hillsborough, New Jersey is a community of over 40,000 citizens lying in the nation’s seventh most affluent county, Somerset County. It is divided into multiple subsections and is a primarily affluent township adjoined by other affluent townships. The median household income within the township is $119,750. We have many children and young adults within the township and our population continues rise.

At present, part of our three and three quarter mile U.S. Route 206 Bypass is completed. The township plans to design a town center along the old Business Route 206. The old section of US-206 is to become our "main street" for the township and be zoned for commercial and residential use. Hillsborough also seeks to become a true “commuter town” and is in talks to become a stop on the NJ Transit Train line.

There are several vacant buildings in Hillsborough Township, that would be a great fit for a hometown Trader Joe's. In addition, these buildings are conveniently located on our future "main street" or "downtown". Trader Joe's would become the center of our township's social hub if the Trader Joe's Company considered this unique opportunity.

Shoprite, Weis Foods and Stop and Shop do not fit the bill in being your competition. They do NOT offer the same products and their freshness is many times questionable. Our daily shopping experiences in each of these markets remain dull and lifeless. Hillsborough has no excitement when it comes to variety of our food selections. Our active community has many families who are "on the go" and would greatly benefit from Trader Joe's conveniences. Our community is underserved in areas that Trader Joe’s excels. Trader Joe’s would be a true asset to our community in becoming a permanent fixture in our future downtown and the throughway it provides between townships and counties.

We, the undersigned residents of Hillsborough Township, New Jersey respectfully request that the Trader Joe's Company seriously consider opening a grocer and sundry store in Hillsborough Township, New Jersey.
