Our petition has been officially submitted to the Village of Pinecrest Council!
Since July 22nd of this year, we have had this petition going around online, in our home store and in supporting community businesses in Pinecrest. A BIG thank you to Pego Lamps, ACE Hardware and Super Shine Carwash for supporting us.
In total from in-store sign sheets and online, our petition was signed with 1,456 supporters. THANK YOU.
Yesterday, the petition was given to the Village of Pinecrest's planning director, Stephen R. Olmsted, and a meeting has been arranged for October 29th to discuss all the changes that Pinecrest needs, including the revision of this outdated parking code for our 12101 S. Dixie Hwy. store.
We are grateful for a strong community of supporters and thank you for the privilege of sharing our tradition with your families.
Pinecrest Bakery was founded in the heart of the Village of Pinecrest in December 2012. Since opening, we have brought a long-desired niche market of Cuban-Latin food that is native to many of the people in this community.
Due to antiquated city regulation, the Village of Pinecrest has been unable to grant the bakery permission for in-store seating.
The purpose of this petition is to try and implore the Village of Pinecrest Council to see that our customers are given the right to proper seating.
We believe that the culture and delight that we have brought to this community should be maintained and respected.
While restaurants in the cities of Coral Gables and Miami Beach are granted exceptions that do not comply with strict legal code, we ask that the same exception be made in the Village of Pinecrest.
Thank you.
